Advancing the Digitization of a Community Center

The objective of the project is to advance the digitization of a community center by supporting the technical assessment of the Stacks+Joules (S+J) building and potentially support in the design for smart building technologies

Project Overview

Project Description

Stacks+Joules (S+J) is a non-profit offering a project-based learning program in computer programming and wireless network management. Its specialized curriculum engages young peoples’ creativity to supercharge their strengths as learners and get them on the fast track to valuable technology skills—regardless of prior experience or training.

The objective of the project is to advance the digitization of a community center by supporting the technical assessment of the Stacks+Joules (S+J) building and possibly the design for smart building technologies. This could involve performing BMS data analysis to inform the trend analysis and exploring Digital Twin and its application in 301 Henry Street through Revit and Tandem. This project is a continuation of the long-term research and development towards digitization, hence the process of documentation and building upon previous documents will be an essential part of this research.

Impact

Stacks+Joules is a nonprofit workforce development program. It is founded on the premise that any student can gain core competencies in computer networks and programming when fueled by their creative passions. This project will support in digitization of the community center to further advance S+J’s mission to give more people the chance to have careers that use technology for the common good.
