Hello everyone,
While many discussions here rightly focus on technical and hardware-based innovations, I wanted to share a project that approaches a pressing problem from a slightly different perspective, yet one that is no less urgent.
I am a PhD candidate at Glasgow Caledonian University researching social sustainability risks in global supply chains. This work builds on the principles of engineering systems thinking and risk modelling, but applies them to social sustainability challenges such as labour conditions, human rights, equity, and transparency in sourcing and supplier networks.
As part of this research, I’m conducting a short survey (~20 mins) aimed at professionals involved in or knowledgeable about global supply chains. Your insights would be invaluable in helping build accessible, data-driven tools to support ethical and responsible decision-making in supply chain design and governance.

If you’re working on supply chains or sustainability—or even if you’re just curious about how social dimensions intersect with engineering I’d love your feedback or thoughts.
Happy to discuss ideas, collaborations, or simply hear from others interested in this space.
Warm regards,
Siju Markose
