Lifecycle
This stove has 1-year warranty including defects in materials and workmanship. Dura stove has a 5-year estimated lifecycle.
Manufacturer Specified Performance Parameters
The EcoZoom Dura rocket stove was designed to burn wood and other solid biomass fuel with a durable and lightweight product that can also be used for camping and off-grid cooking.
Vetted Performance Status
With a skirt, Dura stove has a thermal efficiency of 38%, an average fuel savings of 53% and emissions savings of 72%. When tested without a skirt, it proves a thermal efficiency of 27%, an average fuel savings of 43% and emissions savings of up to 55%. The complete vetted performance here. Results from DelAgua's testing in Rwanda show that follow-up surveys conducted by local Community Health Workers 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after stove placement show that 95% of recipients now use EcoZoom as their primary cooking method.
Safety
Designed for outdoor use only. Keep all flammable items away from the surrounding area of the stove, and do not enclose the area you are cooking within; proper ventilation is always required. Do not touch the body of the stove while in use.
Complementary Technical Systems
Use of the product with a pot skirt significantly increases the efficiency and overall performance of the cookstove.

Evaluation methods
Lab Design & Testing: Functional prototypes are created and tested in a lab in partnership with the Aprovecho Research Center and by third-party experts to ensure they provide an efficient and safe cooking experience. Aprovecho tests all EcoZoom stoves in the lab before they are taken into the field to ensure they are fuel efficient and emissions efficient. Stoves have also been tested by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Some reports available upon request, others are confidential as requested by the testing entity. The Zoom Dura was tested by DelAgua, who piloted over 2,000 of the cookstoves in rural Rwanda and conducted extensive monitoring and evaluation to test end user uptake. Ecozoom indicates that they use the standard laboratory test conducted for cookstoves – the 5-liter Water Boiling Test (WBT). The WBT is a laboratory-based test that can be used to measure how efficiently a stove uses fuel to heat water in a cooking pot and the quantity of emissions produced while cooking. This test can be used to evaluate stove changes during development, compare the effectiveness of different designs, select the most promising products for field trials, and ensure that manufactured stoves meet the intended performance. Ecozoom also follows a 5-step design process before introducing stoves into developing markets to ensure adoption.
