The IZ Southern Cross Windmill, manufactured by Southern Cross Industries, is a water pumping windmill which operates a reciprocating pump for potable water pumping and stock watering applications. Design Specifications

The Southern Cross IZ pattern windmills are made to 5 different sizes – 6 ft, 8 ft, 10 ft, 12 ft and 14 ft diameter of Wind wheel. The main benefits of the IZ Southern Cross Windmill include: Replaceable gearbox bearings without dismantling the mill engine. Completely enclosed, dust and weather proof engine. Strong tension arm windwheel with galvanised steel fans. Automatic oiling. Double reduced gears with machine cut teeth. All steel part heavily galvanised. The product specifications depend on the requirements of the site. For example: Boreholes tested for a yield of 84 L/min at a depth of 30 m where the site requires 15,000 L/day, requires a design of: 12 ft (3.7 m) windmill. 90 mm pump. 64 mm pipe. 16 mm pump rod.
