The Rainfresh P2S Siphon Water Filter is a single silver-impregnated ceramic filter cartridge with attached tubing that comes with two water containers and a filter gauge.
Rainfresh P2S Siphon water filter comprises of an Envirogard 7300G silver-impregnated ceramic filter with tubing attached, two separate water containers, one for the untreated water and the other for safe drinking water. Untreated water is poured in one of the containers which is then placed at a vertical height of not less than 1 meter. The second container is placed at the ground level. The ceramic filter is placed in the dirty water container with the tube running down to the empty container. Suction is applied to the end of the tube and water slowly passes through the ceramic filter and safe drinking water drips into the empty container at a max flow rate of 4.6 liters per hour. The included scrub pad and filter gauge are for cleaning the filter and measuring end-of-life.

Design Specifications
Rainfresh P2S Siphon water filter comprises of an Envirogard 7300G silver-impregnated ceramic filter with tubing attached, two separate 35 liter water containers, one for the untreated water and the other for safe drinking water. Untreated water is poured in one of the containers which is then placed at a vertical height of higher than 1 meter. The second container is placed at the ground level. The ceramic filter is placed in the dirty water container with the tube running down to the empty container. Suction is applied to the end of the tube and water slowly passes through the ceramic filter to create a siphon and safe drinking water drips into the empty container at a max flow rate of 4.6 liters per hour. Technical Support
Available during distributions from the partner NGO or by contacting the manufacturer.
Replacement Components
The Envirogard 7300G silver-impregnated ceramic filter cartridge must be replaced after filtering 3,875 L or within 6 to 12 months. The upgraded 7500G filter cartridge with an activated carbon core for taste and odor reduction is available for sale in Canadian hardware stores or online individually for $26 or in packs of four for $90 but may be available for cheaper from the distributing NGO.
Lifecycle
The Envirogard 7300G silver-impregnated ceramic filter cartridge must be replaced after filtering 3,875 L or within 6 to 12 months. The filter gauge is used after cleanings to measure wear on the ceramic filter and indicates end-of-life.
Manufacturer Specified Performance Parameters
Rainfresh Gravity water filter units are designed to be affordable, mass-produced, easy to assemble and use, and last an individual drinking 3 L/day a full year.
Vetted Performance Status
The Envirogard 7300G filter cartridges are tested and certified by CSA International to NSF53 for 3 log reduction of protozoan cysts (such as cryptosporidium & Giardia). The University of Arizona also found 6 log removal of bacteria including: E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium (typhoid), Vibrio Cholera, and Shigella (cause of dysentery) under very low turbidity conditions of <0.5 NTU.
Safety
No known safety risks if properly used and bottom bucket remains properly sealed against recontamination.
