eKitabu is a digital platform for ebooks.
eKitabu delivers access to books through digital content eBooks for education. This open source platform provides: Utilization of content by students and teachers by access of government approved reading materials including textbooks and story books, measures students literacy through exam scores and digital essay competition metrics. For student with special needs like the blind and visually impaired, the app reads book aloud while for the deaf or hard hearing individuals, the app includes videos with local sign language.
eKitabu has partnered with Moran Publishers and Oxford University Press and collaborated with Kenya ministry of Education, UNICEF Kenya and Global Book Alliance.

Evaluation methods
The iTOYA competition for ICT teacher evaluation criteria is based on: Improvement Index in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) for the last 3 years in teaching the subject. Preparation of learners for “life long learning”, in topics such as environment conservation, water harvesting, etc. Use of ICT in lesson delivery.
