The Ecostufa is an improved biomass cook stove with a smoke extraction chimney and anti-burn side screens. The cook stove is manufactured in three different models, and designed to reduce firewood consumption by up to 75%. It is manufactured by Ecostufa in Mexico and available in over 20 Mexican states via direct sales.

Design Specifications

The Ecostufa cook stove is a plancha-style biomass stove that features a chimney, a hot-plate that can accommodate flat-bottom pots, combustion chamber, side heat screens and four legs that can be adjusted to make the stove level. The maximum pot size is 20 L, and the stove weighs 50 kg and has the following dimensions: 850 x 510 x 900 mm.

Vetted Performance Status

Testing performed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) determined that the stoves emissions are much lower than the WHO guidelines.
