Design Specifications

The Isla Urbana Chaac Kit is composed of 8 different parts. Rainwater collected from the gutter attached to the roof of the structure is collected into a pipe system where it first passes through a first flush separator to collect dirty water and debris. After this, water passes through a leaf filter for large debris and enters into the on-site storage tank where its momentum is reduced through a turbulence reducer. Next, a chlorine doser and float switch disinfect the water while notifying the user when the tank reaches a certain level. Then, a manual hand pump pushes the water from the tank into a small sediment filter and finally a passive water purification tank where the water is then ready to drink.
