Announcing fellowships with the new Global Power System Transformation Consortium
NREL joins the members of the Global Power System Transformation (G-PST) Consortium to launch a program called Women in Power System Transformation. The program is now accepting fellowship applications.
Applications are open on a rolling basis through the end of December 2023.
U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory is now accepting applications from graduate student interns as part of the Women in Power System Transformation program.
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado is the primary U.S. laboratory for research and development of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. NREL serves as a core team member of the Global Power System Transformation (G-PST) Consortium, an expert-and-practitioner-driven global initiative engaging key power system operators around the world to accelerate the clean energy transition. In collaboration with the U.S. Agency for International Development, the G-PST recently launched a program called Women in Power System Transformation that focuses on supporting women and broader gender diversity and equity through G-PST workforce development activities.
Graduate interns will join a team of researchers in NREL’s Energy Systems Integration Directorate who are engaged with power system modeling, analysis and deployment activities globally. Graduate interns will also be part of a training to build leadership skills and enable agency-based empowerment to support successful outcomes in power sector careers. The successful candidate will work closely with NREL staff on analysis and deployment activities particularly around power system operation; collaborate with fellow G-PST interns; and support opportunities to bring analysis, research, and knowledge back to institutions and organizations in developing countries.
Key activities may include use of key analytic tools and data to support power system modeling and integration of renewable energy, collaboration with developing country system operators to support application of advanced power system operational and clean energy engineering solutions, and/or other clean energy analysis and research activities.
