Since 2014, E4C has awarded 250 Fellowships to exceptional early-career engineers, architects and scientists from more than 40 countries worldwide, supporting more than 100 projects and organizations. Our fellowships instill first-hand experience in solving the world’s most stubborn challenges.
The E4C Fellowship is a part-time and remote commitment that lasts five months from May to September. Fellows are paid a stipend and expected to work 20-25 hours per week with flexible schedules.

Presenters
Jonathan Kemp is a Program Specialist with Engineering for Change (E4C) and with the Engineering Global Development group at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). In this role, he leads the team delivering E4C’s Fellowship and Impact Projects. Before his work with E4C and ASME, Jonathan worked as the Technical Manager for Malawian NGO Eagles Relief and Development Programme, where he worked on projects involving solar energy, irrigation, and water supply for community development. He is passionate about community ownership of technology and the application of human- and user-centered design processes in the development of new technologies and implementation of technology-based projects by NGOs. Jonathan graduated with an MSc in Engineering for International Development from University College London in 2018 after receiving a BA (Hons) degree in Physics from the University of Oxford in 2017.
Erin Peiffer is Program Coordinator with Engineering for Change (E4C) where she supports in leading the E4C Fellowship Program including program management, Fellow recruitment and success, and impact evaluation. She has been involved with E4C since 2019 in the capacity of volunteer, Managing Fellow, and previous Research Manager. Erin graduated from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 and a M.S. in Renewable and Clean Energy in 2018.
