Position Summary

As a Metallurgical Engineer, you will be the owner of metallurgical processes to produce high purity iron from iron ore in a novel, high-temperature ironmaking process.

Roles & Responsibilities

Work from first principles to troubleshoot design and implementation challenges on a first-of-a-kind ironmaking furnace
Lead the development of metallography procedures, testing, and data analysis
Select refractory lining materials to withstand furnace operating conditions
Develop bench scale and full-scale test plans to validate models & performance requirements, and assure quality of iron products
Control the purity of iron products using slag forming processes
Work closely with the engineering team on furnace design, installation, and beyond.
Develop and maintain internal practices and documentation on metallurgical processes
