Daniel Oviedo is Lecturer in Urban Transport and Development Planning at the Development Planning Unit of University College London. He is a Civil engineer by training with a masters on Transport Planning from Universidad de los Andes and PhD in Development Planning from UCL. His research specialises on the social, economic and spatial analysis of inequalities related to urban transport and policy evaluation in rapidly growing cities in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. His main areas of research are accessibility, equity, social exclusion and wellbeing. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Transport Geography, Transport Policy and Cities. He currently serves as director of the Latin American chapter of the International Network for Transport and Accessibility in Low-Income Communities (INTALInC) (www.intalinc-lac.com). He also directs the Caliveable research project (www.caliveable.com) and is a co-investigator of the Transitions to Sustainable Urban Mobility in Sub-Saharan African cities project (T-SUM) (www.t-sum.org).
