Denise Nelson is a Civil Environmental Engineer, Certified Floodplain Manager, Envision Sustainability Professional, and a LEED AP. She has sixteen years' experience in design and application of best practices for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems and sustainable development. Her experience includes large and small firms in the US and New Zealand, and she is currently an Environmental Engineer at The Berkley Group. Mrs. Nelson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and her Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. She is active on sustainability committees for the American Society of Civil Engineers and local chapters of the American Public Works Association, the Water Environment Federation, and the American Water Works Association.
