About Jonathan Truslove

Dr Jonathan Truslove is the Education and Skills Lead for Engineers Without Borders UK. He develops opportunities to learn about putting global responsibility at the heart of how engineering is taught and practised, including learning pathways to develop competencies in global responsibility and practical ways of reimagining engineering curricula to embed global responsibility as a core tenet. He leads the research and development of educational resources and design challenges to broaden participants' awareness of the social, environmental, economic, and ethical implications of engineering alongside technical skills. He is an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in water and sanitation access in challenging environments, and the relationship between sustainable infrastructure and communities. He studied at the University of Strathclyde and completed his PhD in 2020, through the Scottish Government Climate Justice Fund: Water Futures Programme, which focused on the sustainability burden placed on rural communities by the drive to meet global coverage targets.
