About Scott West
Scott is a Chemical engineer by trade, and a humanitarian engineer at heart. After finishing his B.S. at the Colorado School of Mines, he worked as a research engineer building cutting edge lithium-ion batteries for a small R&D firm. Knowing his passion was in energy, he returned to the School of Mines to pursue a Masters degree in the Advanced Energy Systems program, which partners with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He was further inspired by courses in Humanitarian engineering, and is now pursing a second Masters degree in the Humanitarian Engineering and Society program. He hopes to pair his passions with energy and social justice to bring about equitable energy solutions for underrepresented communities across the globe.
