Pooja Ghosh works at the Centre for Rural Development and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. She is interested in environmental issues and this keenness to find solutions to environmental problems encouraged her to pursue doctoral studies from Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology lab, School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. Her doctoral work involved risk assessment of landfill leachate from unengineered landfill sites and its proper treatment and detoxification. It contributed significantly in aiding policymakers, environmentalists, scientists, students, and most importantly, citizens, in realizing the problem of unengineered landfill sites of India generating contagious wastewater leachate that percolates into the ground water. Her area of domain is Environment Management with a keen interest on broader aspects like Environmental risk assessment, Solid waste management, Wastewater treatment, Biotechnological solutions to environmental problems and Sustainability. She hopes to translate her knowledge to practical action, assimilate modern technology, improve process output and efficiency.
