Principal Manufacturing Engineer
At Anthro, we’re building batteries to enable radically new electronics that integrate seamlessly with the human body and beyond.
As Staff or Principal Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead the scale-up of our advanced battery materials and devices. You will work alongside the product/R&D teams and external suppliers to deliver high-performance products at scale. You will work with the executive team to plan, purchase, and install our pilot manufacturing line. You’ll play a central role in making Anthro’s technology a reality.
What you will do
- Design pilot and commercial scale battery manufacturing lines, using majority off-the-shelf equipment
- Source equipment for large-scale polymer mixing
- Identify process engineering changes to improve manufacturability
- Work with suppliers to spec equipment for Anthro’s production needs
- Work with external vendors to establish supply chain and manufacturing relationships
- Perform hands-on work bringing pilot equipment on-line
- Mentor, manage, and grow the manufacturing and process engineering teams
- Prepare presentations and report on progress at internal meetings
- Work in-person, on-site at Anthro’s lab in San Jose, and travel to manufacturing locations as-needed
Requirements
- 5+ years in an engineering role, with experience in the battery industry
- Experience with battery manufacturing, preferably cell assembly and/or electrolyte mixing
- Have experience with commercialization/scale-up of new products and technologies
- Comfortable managing projects between internal and external parties
- Adaptive between being an individual contributor and a leader
- An excellent communicator and team player
- Able to manage multiple workflows and projects
- Ambitious, looking to increase your responsibility in a fast growing company
