Engineering for Change and Mechanical Engineering Magazine are now accepting applications for an Editorial Fellowship exploring scientific and technological issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals. This fellowship is a part-time and remote commitment that lasts five months, from May to September. It is available to students and early-career professional journalists and science communicators based anywhere in the world with a working Internet connection. Fellows are expected to work 20-25 hours per week, and compensation is paid according to experience.
The Engineering for Change / Mechanical Engineering Magazine Editorial Fellowship empowers journalists to report on engineered solutions to global challenges in sustainable development. Fellows develop professional skills and inform their work through engagement with a worldwide network of experts in this vital, but under-reported field.
Their articles, videos and photos are published online and in print before a global audience on two unique platforms. At E4C, Editorial Fellows study alongside engineering research fellows, studying issues in sustainable development and the particular research that engineering fellows undertake. At ASME, fellows work with the editorial team behind Mechanical Engineering Magazine.
Fellows craft their own experience throughout the program, with options to explore a high standard of scientific journalism through long-form articles, news briefs, social media, video, photography, webinars and a capstone project with Mechanical Engineering Magazine.
This Fellowship is a part-time and remote commitment that lasts five months, from May to September. Fellows are expected to work 20-25 hours per week. Compensation is paid according to experience.
