The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Learning & Development is seeking a subject matter expert to help develop a course on Design for Sustainability. ASME L&D will facilitate a virtual workshop and professional in-person video shoot, for which ASME will provide video production and instructional design support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to design and development of course content, assessment questions, and course interactions.
Add richness to the content by offering first-hand field knowledge (anecdotal stories, case studies, best practices, tips and/or “tricks-of-the-trade”, best practices, do’s and don’ts) that can be shared with learners to improve knowledge exchange and transfer.
Participate in Workshop and Professional In-Person video shoot for the development of video-based learning content.
Meet all agreed-upon turnaround times for deliverables and deliverable reviews.
COMMITMENT DETAILS
Subject Matter Expert commits to the following milestones (dates subject to change):
- Analyze- Participate in Virtual Course Development Workshop – Dec. 2024 / Jan. 2025
- Synthesize- Develop Content & Script – Jan. 2025
- Materialize- Travel to & Participate in In-Person Shoot in NY/NJ Area – Feb. 2025
- Externalize- Finalize Course – Mar. / Apr. 2025
QUALIFICATIONS
Expert in the one or more key areas of Sustainability:
- Fundamentals of Sustainability
- Circular Economy
- Whole Systems Thinking / Lifecycle Analysis
- Sustainable Manufacturing Processes & Innovation Strategies
- Clean and Efficient Operations
- Renewable Energy Systems
At least 5 years industry experience
Experience delivering in-person or virtual training is preferred, with the ability to engage and effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
Must be comfortable on camera, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively in front of a video audience
