Our mission with this newly unveiled program is to fast-track the careers of talented women holding junior and mid-level positions in the clean energy and power sectors. We have set three specific objectives:
The Women in Power System Transformation (PST) Initiative is excited to collaborate with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET), which aims to advance the global energy transition by empowering women in energy through interdisciplinary networking, advocacy, training, and mentoring. Together, we are launching a joint mentorship program to amplify the voices of women in energy and create a platform for them to lead, innovate, and shape the future of global energy solutions.

- Elevate the presence of women in leadership and decision-making roles, ultimately accelerating the pace of the energy transition.
- Cultivate societal transformation by fostering innovation, encouraging fresh perspectives, and promoting valuable networking opportunities.
- Provide dedicated support to help participants formulate tangible career aspirations and strategically work toward achieving them.
For those eager to be part of this transformative journey as mentees, here are the application criteria:

- You must be a woman actively engaged in the clean energy or power sector field. • Your current role should fall within student (graduate and PhD), junior or middle management.
- You should possess 2 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
Our mentoring program is structured with the following key features:
- A duration of 9 months, providing ample time for meaningful growth and development. • Comprehensive knowledge-sharing components to enrich your expertise.
- Virtual networking opportunities and peer-to-peer exchanges for building valuable connections.
Applications for the program will close on November 31st. Please note that the program is scheduled to run from January to September 2024.

The Women in PST initiative, established by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Partnership and the Global Power System Transformation (G-PST) Consortium, spearheads efforts to close the gender gap by offering professional development opportunities for women working in utilities and power system operators or related technical fields and university settings.
