Product Description

The Quick Erect (QE) Series Carbon Fiber Framed Shelter is a temporary shelter that can be set up on-site within a few minutes, depending on the size of the unit. Designed by FSI North America, the shelter uses a carbon fiber strut system that can expand for fast setup and retract for storage. The canopy fabric that covers the strut system is designed to be resistant to chemicals and UV, and, when properly secured to the ground, can withstand 70 mph winds.

The Carbon Fiber Frame Shelter can be used for emergency applications including field hospitals, urgent medical surge capacity additions, temporary housing, isolation centers, and other uses. Units can be configured with additional windows, doors, insulation, ducts, alternate colors, and combined with other FSI shelter products.

Design Specifications

The FSI DAT ‘QE Series’ Carbon Fiber Framed Shelters are available in different sizes that range from ~9.3 m2 to ~32.6 m2. The following are the specifications for the 28 (300 ft²) DAT QE1127 Multi-Purpose Rapid Deployment Shelter.

The unit is approximately 3.4 x 8.2 x 2.6 m and weighs 127 lbs.

The design features 2 windows, one on each side, and 2 skylights. The canopy is made from fire retardant and UV/chemical/mold resistant coated fabric. The canopy and floor is detachable from the shelter for ease of cleaning and repair.

The carbon composite tubing structure is retractable and requires a propping tool/pole to push up the frame.

Additional parts included are two 43 cm HVAC outlets with tie closures, 4 stainless steel stakes, and ground anchor points.

The manufacturer provides an instruction manual for setting up and deconstructing their products. To build a unit, users need to pull the width support frame of the carbon fiber strut system upwards with poles until the structure locks in place. The canopy fabric walls are attached to the frame in order to ensure air lock.
