Commuters can hail a Gokada driver on the road or request one via the application or website to move around Lagos in Nigeria. The app uses GPS to link the user to a nearby Gokada motorcycle taxi driver. The drivers are trained in defensive driving behavior and are required to pass phsychometric and driving tests. The user enters desired pickup and destination locations which are then confirmed by a call from the verified assigned driver. Upon reaching the destination, the application calculates the trip fare which the user pays in cash.

Complaints of driver performance can be made through the Gokada website (bottom of page). The Safety and Support Team resolves the users' complaints and answers their inquiries.
