MobiStation is a multimedia tool to support education in and out of schools and to assist teachers, improving access, equity, and quality in education. Built into a portable suitcase, it is equipped with a solar-powered laptop, a low-power pico-projector, and an audio system.

It works by projecting e-books, teaching videos, and other multimedia content in rural schools and health centers, bringing quality learning to marginalized groups. The educational content for MobiStation is developed and recorded by the country’s top teachers in subjects like English, math, social studies, and science.

Design Specifications

MobiStation, is a portable, solar-powered multimedia kit fully equipped with a speaker, projector, laptop, and a document reading camera. It comes with pre-uploaded education content that is used to aid learning in schools and can also be used in Health Centers. The kit consists of a pelican case that holds the equipment both for storage and use. The laptop contains education content in the form of video clips, cartoons, music videos, math lessons, and even offline Wikipedia. Using MobiStation, a teacher can capture the content of a book using the camera and then project it in a wall where students can see it, thus helping solve the challenge of limited resources in remote and underserved areas.
