Designed by PowerPal, the T1 Turgo is a micro-hydroelectric generator system consisting of a turbine with a generator attached.
The PowerPal T1 Turgo micro-hydroelectric generator has a power output range from 660 W to 2.0 kW depending on head and flow. It has twin nozzles and is fitted with a 1 kW capacity generator. All or part of the stream flow is diverted through a 12 cm diameter steel penstock pipe and down to the turbine. An electronic load controller controls the output voltage and frequency.
The PowerPal micro hydro turbines are manufactured to exacting standards in Vietnam under the supervision of Asian Phoenix Resources Ltd., a Canadian corporation.

Manufacturer Specified Performance Parameters
Vetted Performance Status
Testing performed by the manufacturer determined the output range of 660 W - 1000 W as indicated in the manual, however, no third-party testing has been completed.
Safety
There are significant hazards related to both the installation & operation of this product if installed incorrectly. Electrocution is a threat when installing the system, higher than rated power outputs are possible under conditions of higher water head, which can lead to electrical fires. The following safety factors are taken from the Powerpal T1 and T2 Hydro manual:
Complementary Technical Systems
Can be combined with irrigation systems.
